  1. Pencak Silat, A Heritage of Peaceful Minds

    Have you ever thinking about learning martial arts and peaceful of life? Well you should try to learning Pencak Silat.
    Then if you ask, what is Pencak Silat? Pencak Silat is a martial arts that come from Indonesia for over 650 years ago. It seems come from the mixture of many cultures that exist in Indonesia (and also Melayu region) for over hundred years ago. Pencak Silat is consists of many styles inside of it. There are Cimande style, Merpati Putih Style, Setia Hati Terate style, and others. Mostly of those styles , they have different way about how to learning Pencak Silat. Those styles also have their own characteristics that showing their identity.

    Basically in Pencak Silat, you will not just learn about defend yourself when you needed it or just fighting without no good reasons, no way. In Pencak Silat, you will also learn about finding the peaceful of life, the peaceful of mind, and the way to use your logic instead your emotion when you are in bad ambience. The other important concept Pencak Silat it’s about protecting yourself and your kinfolk, from harm and dangerous. So, that’s the good way for you who wanted to find the peaceful of mind. Beside. your body will be healthier than before because this sport.

    But there is also the negative side of learning Pencak Silat. When you learn Pencak Silat excessively with over hoping, and if also there is bad desire. Don’t ever thinking about understanding Pencak Silat with perfectly. Because Pencak Silat is just not about the physical that mostly exist in other martial arts, it’s not about how strong your body is, no it’s not. From what i said, Pencak Silat is about how to find the peaceful of mind and how to interact with the nature and peoples. When you have a bad desire from learning Pencak Silat, example just for revenge to someone, what you will got is just the bonebreak, and nothing else you will got. But relax, basically Pencak Silat, it doesn’t has any serious negative things.

    Unfortunately, most of Indonesian peoples, they didn’t realize this astonish heritage. They prefer to learn other martial arts/sports rather than just learning their own heritage, just like Pencak

  2. Homeschooling

    Homeschooling is the education of children at home, typically by parents but sometimes by tutors, rather than in other formal settings of public or private school. Homeschooling is a legal option in many places for parents to provide their children with a learning environment as an alternative to publicly-provided schools. Parents cite numerous reasons as motivations to homeschool, including poor public school environment, improved character/morality development, and objections to what is taught locally in public school. It may be a factor in the choice of parenting style. It is also an alternative for families living in isolated rural locations or living temporarily abroad.

    These are benefits to home schooling. Controlled socialization, Parents believe that home schooling improves children’s relations with adults. It also helps them avoid a peer culture with excessive premarital sex, drugs and alcohol and then, One-on-one teaching, Home-schooling parents view public schools as teaching to the slowest children in the classes. This means their children cannot learn as quickly. They believe their training can help their children learn faster. Next is, Family support, Home-schooled children get to know their parents and siblings better, because they spend more “quality time” together. Close family relations give children a greater capacity to confront the world and find a satisfying vocation.
    However, psychologists have some reservations about home schooling. They acknowledge that home schooling shields children from base attitudes, substance abuse and violence.
    However, children will eventually come into contact with these problems. Lack of socializing, Lack of participation in the greater society, Potential difficulty entering mainstream life.

    The education in our public schools has been on the down slope for many years. With the increased amount of drugs, and other problems in these schools, more and more parents are making the choice to home school their children. Although many people claim that public education is better and more suitable for children, many facts and statistics show that home schooling is equally, if not more, beneficial. Home schooling parents have many different reasons for choosing to home school their children. Most children would be able to learn better at home because they are able to learn at their own pace while, in public schools, they have to learn at the pace the teacher sets, which may be too fast or too slow for different students. Also, at home, the child is able to have more “hands-on” activities and be more in touch with nature and the outside world and even include many of these things in his or her studies. Most parents object when someone teaches their children .

    However, even home schooling is good for children. Parents should not forget to make them socialize. because those problems above might arise when parents do not supervise their children well.

In fact, by far mostly who learn Pencak Silat it’s not Indonesian Peoples, but European Peoples, American Peoples, Thailand peoples, others, they all learn our heritage that called Pencak Silat. Surely, it’s sadden right? We as the Indonesian peoples almost forgotour own heritage, Pencak Silat, while strangers learning our heritage? Let’s act from now!

  4. My Opinion About American Football

    American football is a unique sport, i think. It’s seems that many people in America have fascinated by this sport. NFL is one of the big league for an American professional footballer, which newspapers, magazines, and sports programmers have a high rating for covering the news. American football is one of the biggest sport in the world, and many players had remembered as heroes for their successfull career at team.
    For some reason, i found this sport was so entertaining (especially for men) because it is a high-offensive sport.
    The objective of the game is to score points by advancing the ball into the opposing team’s end zone. The ball can be advanced by running with it or throwing it to a teammate. There are allowance of four downs per possession, then vice-versa it to the opposition team if the offensive team had succeed or failed in their own possession. The other team then start to defend the end zone. Not a very hard rule to understand, moreover the defensive team allowed to do a physical contact, like tackle. That’s why the emotion flowing on the game was so strong.Teamwork, tactics, and a great physical srength are three poins that very needed to conquering a victory for the match.

    However, there’s also a negative side to american football. Altough the players wear protective equipment such as helmet, shoulder pads, and body protector, it seems this sport have a higher injury and death rate than most other major American professional sports. For example, many players currently in the NFL have needed surgery to repair injuries that might have otherwise ended their careers. Moreover, there is some research, reported in 2009, which, using phone interviews based on the National Health Interview Survey, showed increased incidence of diagnosis of memory loss and dementia among retired professional football players. Such symptoms are believed related to the effects of concussion.

    In my conclusion, I’m personally still have a favor for agressive sports like american football. Many thing that you can learned from this sport, especially teamwork & fighting spirit. Of course, there was many people hates dangerous sport like this. But, so what? It’s just sound challenging for me, i loved competitive sport that need great combination of brain & brawn. You can play it anywhere, anytime, just need couple of friends and guts.

But I think, even though martial art is a full-contact sport, it’s more than just sport or art of self defense.
    These days, it’s not safe to roam in the city streets because of the threats of being bullied, robbed, kidnapped or even killed. Of course we can call the police if anything happens but we can’t one-hundred-percent depend on police officers in some sticky situations. That’s why martial art as the art of self defense is important. Other than that, martial art has some other positive effects, such as boost one’s confidence. Martial art teaches its practitioners to be sure of their own moves, for example when to punch, block opponent’s attack or dodge it. Moreover, there are “martial art therapies” for the children who lack of self confidence. Of course, this kind of therapy is not focused in increasing physical strength, but to increase their confidence so they can easily communicate with others much better.
    However, there are negative effects of martial art. People might misuse martial art for bad purposes. For example, people might use it for wild brawls or even for some criminal acts such as bullying, robbing, kidnapping or even killing. But this effect can be reduced because some martial art training center that’s called “dojo” or “perguruan” teach moral value to its learners so they won’t practice it for bad purposes. Even some of them forbid the usage of their martial art style outside the dojo except in emergency cases. Another negative effect is that it caused injuries, from light to fatal ones. Martial art as full-contact sport has greater possibility to cause injuries, even though some martial artists wear body protector when practicing.
    To summarize, I am personally interested in this kind of sport and I found it more than just aggressive sport. Although it is a dangerous sport, it’s challenging to try because it’s a “healthy” competitive sport, so people can compete without involving “personal” motives (for example, hatred , jealousy or just take revenge), unlike wild street brawls that’s always happen because of sentimental causes. In my opinion, if all students take martial art courses-especially the ones which forbid the style to be used outside and the ones which teach moral value to the learners-there won’t be any street brawls, because they might be taught to avoid it as possible and they probably have enough fighting during training sessions.

  10. Comics
    Comics are a graphic medium in which images convey a sequential narrative. The term derives from the mostly humorous early work in the medium, and came to apply to that form of the medium including those far from comic. The sequential nature of the pictures, and the predominance of pictures over words, distinguishes comics from picture books, though there is some overlap between the two. Most comics combine words with images, often indicating speech in the form of word balloons, but pantomime strips, such as The Little King, are not uncommon. Words other than dialogue, captions for example, usually expand upon the pictures, but sometimes act in counterpoint.

    Comics itself are defined in many ways around the world, for example Japan has its own style called manga, while in American comics are just simply called “Cartoons”, because of the way the author draws the characters in the comic books. Reading comics have also been a part of a lifestyle, and all sorts of comics have one purpose only: for entertainment.

    Some people even devoted their lives and their money just to buy a rare edition comic that no one in the whole wide world ever has a copy of it. This is the bad side of comics, as they have been too highly addictive for some people. Even most kids and teenagers are somehow “brainwashed” by their own fantasy by reading comics.

    However, reading comics weren’t all that bad either. It has been proved that comics are one of a way of someone to relieve their stress, or just in need to kill some time. Comics also improve the reader’s fantasy to describe things, even broaden their knowledge by reading a fact that somehow the author managed to slip in the storyline.

    In the end, reading comics were one of the way human lives with. I’m pretty sure every human in the world have read at least a comic, and found a refreshing feeling after reading it. But I also think we couldn’t get too carried over reading them, and forgetting our own business. We too have our lives, and reading comics is just another way to spend it. Don’t indulge too much in it, but don’t read it too thoroughly, let the comics be a part of our life.

  11. Weight lifting as sport

    Weightlifting, also called Olympic weight lifting is a sport in which participants attempt a maximum weight single lift of a barbell loaded with weight plates. The two lifts competed are the clean and jerk and the snatch. There’s another technique of weightlifting called clean and press. But it was discontinued due to the difficulties in judging. Men’s weight lifting has been an Olympic sport for many decades. This competitive sport is controlled by International Weightlifting Federation. Recently, women’s weightlifting has become an Olympic sport. But, there were a championship for women lifter since 1987. In weight lifting, the competitor who chooses to attempt the lowest weight goes first. If they are unsuccessful at that weight, they have an option to reattempting that lift or trying the heavier later. Each lifter can have a maximum of three lifts, regardless of whether lifts are successful or not. The prizes are usually given for the heaviest weights lifted in the snatch, clean and jerk, and the two combined.

    The benefit of weight lifting is such as increased muscle strength, power, endurance and size with enhanced performance of everyday tasks. Also, it can boost the body metabolism that’ll cause reduction of body fat, decreases in waist measurements and body fat measurement. Not only for your body, but it also can improved ability to handle stress effectively, fall asleep quicker and sleep deeper which is good for mind too.

    However, there is also a negative side. There is no doubt that strength training is extremely dangerous for children. The pediatricians were saying that weight lifting is unsafe and ineffective for growing teens in 20 years ago. But now they are saying that it could be effective and safe only if it is performed correctly. Extreme heavy lifting is unnecessary and might be dangerous in pre adolescent teens. Lifting heavy weights may speed up the closing of growth plates before their fully develop. Stopping the growth process prematurely will make stunt to the teen’s growth.

    To sum up, with all the benefits, weight lifting is an interesting sport to try because it’s good both for your body and mind. Although it has a bad side, we can reduce the risk by performed it correctly. Many research proved that correct technique reduces the risk of injury in most cases. so you must know how to do it correctly before try it.

  12. Badminton, Indonesia’s favorite sport

    Nowadays it seems that badminton has become a popular sport in Indonesia. Many newspapers, radios, sport magazines, televisions, often report badminton matches around the globe, especially when it involves Indonesian players. Indonesia has won many international badminton matches that make Indonesia is known by other countries around the world. Many badminton players who won in international badminton matches are often called as heroes by their supporters. So, it is not surprising that many Indonesian people are willing to waste their time just to turn on the television, and watch as their “heroes” were competing against player from other nations.
    Inspired by the action of their “heroes” in the international match, nowadays more and more Indonesian people play badminton, whether they play for just once a day, once a week, or even once a month, but many Indonesian people are getting to like it. This is because it’s easy to play badminton, the skills needed to play badminton is not difficult to acquire, you just need to be able to swing your racket and have an excellent footwork. The other factor that makes badminton is often played by the Indonesian people is that because its flexibility to be played. It is not hard to find a place to play badminton, this is because badminton does not require large space in order to play it, for example you can use your backyard to be used to play badminton, or even you can use the street in front of your house to be used to play badminton. The equipment used to play badminton is not expensive, not like the equipment used to play golf that requires a lot of money in order to obtain it. The equipment used to play badminton is cheap, the price for the badminton racket is only around one-hundred rupiahs to one-million rupiahs, and the price of shuttlecocks is only five-thousand rupiahs.
    However, there is also a negative impact on playing badminton. It can cause fatal injuries especially at the joint around the arms and at the joint at the ankle. This is because in order to play badminton we must be able to move swiftly around the court, in order to move swiftly we must move our feet quickly, so if we’re not careful we might injure our own feet. We also have to be able to swing our racket desperately so we can make the shuttlecock fly quickly to the opponent’s side, but if we’re not careful we might just hurt our own wrist or even our arm.
    To conclude, I’m all in favor in badminton. I think it is a good sport because it does not an aggressive sport that requires an intense physical contacts that could lead to fatal injuries such as fracture, bleeding, brain concussion, and also playing badminton can also make ourselves more agile, and make our body healthier

  13. Rugby, smart and deadly

    It was once considered to be brutal and rugged game, the purpose of which was to develop character and team play in the youngster of the privileged classes. However modern rugby has developed into a fast paced game of skill and determination, where mind and body are exerted to the maximum. Basically, the game is played with 15 people from each team, divided to Forwards and Backs. Forwards for scoring points and Backs for defence. There are many rules in Rugby, but to simplify, Rugby is a game that involves all 30 players from both teams to compete for scoring the most points by tries, kick penalties, and dropped balls.
    The gameplay of Rugby is very interesting. Mixture of tactics and brute strength. Each players had to move aggressively while trying to figure the strategy, making this sport improves your body condition and determination because you have to be agile, strong, and determined while playing rugby. It also improves your ability to think fast and decisive.
    On the negative note, this sport is very brutal. Rugby is a football without protection. No helmets, no shoulder pads, no chest armor whatsoever. You have to face your opponent only with your team uniform, shorts, socks, and your raw physical power. Which is why this sport is listed as one of the ten most dangerous sport with all the brutal physical contact and broken bones all over.
    To conclude, I like rugby. I like seeing all those 30 men (or women, maybe if there’s a women’s league?) crashed each other without making this sport a senseless, pointless sport like wrestling. I also love the brutality in rugby, really good for releasing stress. Although this sport is one of the few sports that had a death rate, I like it very much!

  14. swimming

    As many of you already know the sport of swimming is immensely popular and highly competitive sport throughout the world. It is a large part of the olympics and watched for entertainment by millions people around. Not only is swimming a good choice of exercise for many people but it is often chosen as something to do for fun, moreover you can find swimming pool easily around you.

    Swimming is healthy activity that can be continued for a lifetime, and the health benefits swimming offers for a lifetime are worth the effort it takes to get to the swimming pool. Regular swimming builds endurance and musle-strenght. Swimming does burn calories at rate of about 3 calories a mile per pound of body. Swimming also can make your body taller. Moreover you can be entertained by all the pool park that you can find easily with all the slides and more games there.

    However, there is negative side in swimming. It can be a very dangerous sport if you has astmathic because you have to not to breathe under the water. You have to wear swimming goggles so your eyes will not be irritated. Many people don’t want to get sunburn have to wear sunblock to avoid it or you can swim at night. After you do swim you have to clean up yourself properly, because you are in the same pool with other people that you dont know if they have skin disease.

    To conclude, I am personally like this kind of sport because it is not hard to do. All people can try this sport from young to old and all your body moves from head to toe too. This sport is really good if you do this regularly.

  15. Cheerleading As a Sport

    Have you ever heard of Cheerleading?
    Cheerleading is an organized activity that involves a lead of cheers to rally the crowd at sport events. Sometimes, cheerleading is a competitive sport. The participants or the cheerleaders, performing some moves, that contain the component of dance, jump, cheers, tumbling, stunting and other complex tricks, and very physically demanding. So, cheerleading is somehow challenging. Many people think, cheerleading is for girls only. Which is wrong, I have seen so many cheerleading squads with boys in it. So boys can do cheerleading too.
    Being a cheerleader is not that easy. Cheerleaders have to be very flexible to do some complex tricks. So, cheerleading needs a lot of practice. But, here is the benefit of cheerleading. Cheerleading provides fitness and exercise in a fun way. Cheerleaders are constantly moving and doing routines, so cheerleading helps you improve your stamina, coordination and strength. A lot of gymnastics are involved too, that’s why cheerleader are flexible. Anyway, by doing all those cheerleading routines can help you in other sports, because it can help your health by making you fit. Other than that, cheerleading has some psychology benefits too. Perform in front of many people is not that easy, you need a lot of self confidence. Cheerleading helps you in this. And, cheerleaders know how to trust each other and how to root with the team they’re cheering. And basically, cheerleading is cheering people, so they (cheerleaders) are more optimistic and positive. This helps you a lot in life.
    But, like I said before, being a cheerleader is not that easy. A lot of risks are waiting for those cheerleaders, other than the benefits. Complex moves are amazing and also dangerous. What I mean by dangerous is, it can cause serious head, neck and other injuries. There is a girl named Patty Phommanyvong. She WAS a healthy 17-years-od girl, and also a cheerleader, but now she cant walk or talk because of cheerleading. Patty’s partner were throwing her 16 feet in the air. And she suffered an accident that left her a brain injury that caused permanent paralysis. Other than that, between the fall of 1982 to the spring of 2007, there are 42 deaths that related to cheerleading activities.
    So, I found that cheerleading is a dangerous and challenging sport. It gives you a lot of physical benefits and offers you a lot of risks too, even some of them caused permanent damage or death. But I still think that cheerleading is an interesting sport, even though you need a lot of courage to try it.

    swimming is an aquatic sport. based on the human act of swimming, with the goal of completing a given distance in the shortest amount of time. there is also a swimming based on endurance rather than speed. swimming strated around 1800 moreover it was part of the first modern Olympic games in 1896 in Athens. In addition there are many swimming strokes like butterflystroke, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley or I.M. Other than swimming stroke, there are officials who have authority for the swimming official competition. like refree, starter, clerk of course, timekeepers, inspectors of turns, judges of stroke, and finally the finish judges. beside officials and swimming stroke, there also many rule acording to swimming competition rules. like for disqualification and other rule like that. beside swimming competition, you can also excercise and have fun when you swim. usually regular people swim twice a week for excercise, and have fun with family or friends. thats why goverment build a public swimming pool for other people to use.

    basically the positive points about this sport are for excercise your body and stamina, you can train your endurance and breath under water, and swimming can burn many calories because swimming needs energy to swim through the pool. moreover it can be said that swimming can help you grow your height and form your body and help you lose weight. it is a great relaxing and healthy activities and sport. other then competition and excercise swimming also can be used for stress buster to fun and enjoyment.

    however, swimming have a negative side as well. for example, the chlorine may affect people health especially when young. and when you swim in the outdoor swimming pool or the beach, usually you got sunburn if you don’t have skin protection. therefore, you should take sunscreen before you go to swim to prevent sunburn. and sometimes after you swim in long period of time you can get your hair and your body stiff.

    therefore my coclusion is that swimming is healthy sport but has certain risk if you do it for a long period of time. you have to adjust the time and do it in reasonable time. but at the same time you can get many benefits in swimming, like for enjoyment and relaxing healthy sport for your mental and body.

  17. Boxing

    Boxing sport requires strong physics. Boxing is a combat sport and martial art in which two people fight using their fists. Boxing match consists of 12 rounds, A round consists of 3 minutes. There are three ways to win; if the opponent is knocked out and unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds (a Knockout, or KO) or if the opponent is deemed too injured to continue (a Technical Knockout, or TKO). If there is no stoppage of the fight before an agreed number of rounds, a winner is determined either by the referee’s decision or by judges’ scorecards.
    All boxers, regardless of their weight class, have certain kinds of clothing that are essential for bouts. Professional boxers wear different clothes from amateur ones but there is a basic idea or sense in them. All boxers in sanctioned fights are required to have handwraps, gloves, groin protectors, mouth guards and soft soled shoes.
    Famous boxers in the world are Muhammad Ali, Roy Jones Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Sam Langford, Mike Tyson, Harry Greb, Julio César Chávez and much more. Indonesia has a skilled boxer is Chris John. Chris John has achieved many accomplishments for Indonesia.
    A boxer has to have strong physics, good kenestetic especially both hands and feet. He also should have a high endurance since the game is quite long and energetic. Boxing also creates a sense of sportsmanship. It also brings in money for the boxer and his manager. Therefore, regular boxing betting event made for people who love boxing. On the other side, boxing can cause death or severe injury. In sports boxing death is considered legal by the law. Boxing spectacle is not good for children because it can cause fights. for some, boxing is a sport that is not inhumane because it can kill a boxer, but boxing is a challenging sport.
    I think boxing is not a good sport, because it can endanger the boxers themselves, and also forbidden by the religion of Islam as more bad than good, especially if it causes people to die

  18. My opinion about Badminton sport
    Basically Badminton is just not about hitting the shuttlecock.     However Badminton also has its negative effects. If you play badminton without sport shoes and instead you use unsuitable shoes and the condition of the floor is slippery, you may slip and injure yourself. This accident can cramp your muscles or even in worst situations, break your leg.

    So I can conclude that Badminton is a very fun sport to play, you can play it anywhere and anytime. In addition, badminton will help you to keep healthy and sharpens your reflex. But you must pay attention to the equipments you are wearing especially shoes. If you don’t pay attention to that, you may face some serious problems.

  20. Artistic gymnastic

    Artistic gymnastics is a discipline of gymnastics which is a popular spectator sport at the Summer Olympic Games, and in numerous other competitive environments. This sport is one of the sports that colaboration with art. Artistic gymnastics is usually divided into Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics which is performed on an apparatus . Typically men compete six events: Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar, while women compete four: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise. Though routines performed on each event may be short, they are physically exhausting and push the gymnast’s strength, flexibility, endurance and awareness to the limit.
    Maybe, you think artistic gymnastic is only learn about how you make your body flexibility. Well your statement it’s wrong. It’s not only just make your body flexibilty, it makes your body stronger and increase your agility, coordination and balance. We do exercise everytime so we need more energy, it caused us stronger. And all of this movements effected high agility, coordination and balance. Artistic gymnastics is make us more discipline, because if you do the movements without discipline, you do not do the right way and maybe it caused risk.
    Unfortunately, this sport is easily effected injured even death. When you do artistic gymnastic, maybe you’ll just forget the rule and just do the gymnastic with your way. And because of that, you get injured or something. While you have less careful, suddenly the movements make your hinge hurts and you got sprain. Or, when you do Uneven Bars (one of the gymnastic movements that performs a routine on two horizontal bars set at different heights) and you got less balance, you just fall over and it makes your neck broke.
    To summarize, I think artistic gymnastic is one of sport that useful to increasing our strength, agility, coordination and balance. And it also make us health too. But we have to be careful so that can’t make us injured or get more risk.

    Pilates is a mind-body method of conditioning that focuses on developing strength in the abdominal region plus strengthening the small muscles that support the larger muscles. This method has recently become popular because of its ability to create long, lean muscles, and tone and sculpt the body. This method combines the element of yoga, breath work, weight training, and gymnastic to bring the body into proper alignment.
    The advantage of pilates is that the workout doesn’t cause muscle to bulk. It also prevents injury and improves posture. It strengthens and shapes the body from inside and out. For those who are doing pilates exercises, it also aids in balancing body and mind, so it reduces stress and anxiety. Pilates increases mobility in one’s joint, it produces a flatter stomach, thinner waist, lengthened body, and improved circulation. Those who suffered arthritis should do pilates exercises as it helps to reduce stiffness in the muscles. Since it improves posture, pilates exercise prevents osteoporosis.
    Well, every sport has its negative aspects. Pilates can be pricey, because of the expensive education that pilates instructors must complete, and studio and equipment we have to rent. Pilates can tone the rectus and transverse abdominal muscles, if performed badly or too often. It can also cause over development in the external and internal oblique muscles of the abdomen, resulting a flat stomach but wider waist. This is all because pilates is practiced through extension with the torso moving in a linear, forward fashion.
    Still, I choose to do pilates exercise, because it balances our mind and body. Even though it has negative aspects, we just have to do it correctly and of course not too often. It’s kind of pricey, but if it helps to strengthen our body, let’s do the exercises!!!

  22. What I think of Basketball as a sport

    Basketball is one of the most popular sports around the world,no matter old,young,men or women,they love to play basketball. Basketball was made by Dr.James Naysmith in the 18th century who is a professor and instructor at the International Young Men’s Christian Association Training School. At first basketball was made to keep his gym class active on a rainy day but now,basketball is way of life. Many people earns their living with basketball,like professional basketballer or even the commentator.

    For me,basketball has many positive things,such as keeping my body fit and build up my muscle. In addition,spectators find it interesting because players from both team struggled until the end. Spectator loves the spirit that carried on the game,that’s why it becomes one of the most popular sports around the world

    I think basketball has fewer negative effects than the others sports because personal contact that disrupt enemies is not allowed and penalized. However,basketball can lead us into injury if we do not play by the rules. So,we must play it within the rules to avoid injury. Another one of basketball negatives side,you can’t play basketball on the ground like that,you’ll need a ring as high as 3 metres to play. So,if there is no ring,there is no game.

    To summarize,i think basketball is a sports that is easy to play and also entertaining, All you have to do is drible the ball and shoot it into the hoop. We learned a lot from playing basketball,we learn about teamwork,we learn how to win,and we learn how to respect people.

  23. FUTSAL is a very high-paced game I ever know it’s similiar to soccer however futsal is like the mini version of soccer. The team is just 5 players and the field is maybe just half of soccer field and also the length of the game is just 15 minutes times 2. There’s no extra time in futsal if the game was draw then it’s a penalty shootout. The objective for each team of course score a goal and the one with a higher score wins but it’s not that simple you have to keep your pace up because the game can be very fast just like basketball you see. And the referee in futsal is just 2 and they just stand on the sideline of the field not like soccer who got 3 referee and one of them is on the field. In futsal there is no such thing like throw-in in futsal if the ball goes out of play you kick the ball in and there is a four second to kick the ball starts when you touch the ball you must kick the ball in the line and your feet can’t cross the line if those three rules your opponent got the kicks fair game is it. In futsal there is an option do you want to kick the ball to the goalkeeper or you want to do kick off also you can do a through pass when you start the kick off but if one of your player cross the middle line before the ball crosses the opponent can take the ball from you and the opposing team can make a wall to hold off the kick but that’s an option. And the goalkeeper have a rule to if the balls goes out of play in soccer he will get a goal kick but in futsal you must throw the ball before 4 seconds pass but if you cacth a ball your opponents shoot you can kick it. In addition your teammates can’t do a backpass to you if he just got the ball and behind the middle line if he cross the middle line first and then he pass to you that’s okay but the keeper can’t cacth a pass from his teammates if he does it then the opponent will have a free kick from where the teammates pass and the free kick has to be done from a two touch kick, so you can’t shoot directly to the goalkeeper.

    The positive thing about futsal is you can train your stamina here because the game is very fast and you run almost everytime also it trains your dribbling skills also your tactical skills. In futsal you can’t make a mistake because if your ball got stollen your opponent can score in a few seconds because of the small field futsal have.

    The negative about futsal I think maybe there’s none but if you want to play with your friends futsal can’t played more than 10 persons however soccer can be played by 22 persons that doubles the players of futsal you see so in addition futsal can’t be played by too many people because of the field that’s too small.

    In my conclusion futsal is a very high paced game and very interesting game because you can train so many skills if you play futsal and also you can have a new experience besides playing soccer because futsal has many different rules and many playing styles also futsal shoes have so much variety. I hope you enjoy playing futsal. Futsal also train your teamwork and sportivity.

  24. Baseball

    Baseball is a sport that you do in baseball court. To play, you have to have 9 players each team. The position are pitcher, catcher, first, second, third, shortstop, left, center, and right. The equiment are batt, gloves, catcher glove, protector and game ball. And player who have the turn to hit the ball known as batter. Although this game use protectors this game is fatal if you don’t be careful, cause a professional pitcher can throw ball at 160km/h.

    The positive about this game is we train our physics and mind and our teamwork, to run, to think about strategy, and to team up against the opponent.

    the negative about baseball is you can get a serious injury if you don’t be careful, and it’s all about teamwork, one wrong step you could lose the game. Because this game play strategy too.

    What i think about baseball is it’s a high tense sport, like when it’s your turn to batt or when you want to steal, it’s all about teamwork and tense again i say. Even though this game quite dangerous, it’s worth the tense.

    Muay Thai is a hard martial art from Thailand. It is similar to other Indochinese styles of kickboxing, namely pradal serey from Cambodia, tomoi from Malaysia, lethwei from Myanmar and Muay Lao from Laos. Descended from muay boran, Muay Thai is Thailand’s national sport.The word muay derives from the Sanskrit mavya and Thai comes from the word Tai. Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” or the “Science Of Eight Limbs” because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”, as opposed to “two points” (fists) in Western boxing and “four points” (hands and feet) used in sport-oriented martial arts. A practitioner of Muay Thai is known as a nak muay. Western practitioners are sometimes called nak muay farang meaning foreign boxer.
    Thai boxing has been around for over a thousand years. However, it can be traced back using records to 400 years ago in the former capital of Thailand known as Ayuthaya. Various forms of kickboxing have long been practiced throughout mainland Southeast Asia. Based on a combination of Chinese and Indian martial arts, practitioners claim they date back two thousand years.
    Therefore, Muay Thai, was originally called toi muay or simply muay. As well as being a practical fighting technique for use in actual warfare, muay became a sport in which the opponents fought in front of spectators who went to watch for entertainment. These muay contests gradually became an integral part of local festivals and celebrations, especially those held at temples. It was even used as entertainment for kings. Eventually, the previously bare-fisted fighters started wearing lengths of hemp rope around their hands and forearms. This type of match was called muay khat chueak
    Regardless of age or skills, Muay Thai have many benefits to us. It will develop self-control, confidence, self-discipline, and focus, all while learning valuable self-defense. This workout will increase our strength, stamina, coordination, and stability. From a cardiovascular standpoint, this sports will develop core strength, improve reflexes, and increase our flexibility.Learning Thai boxing will help us to be confident, self-assured, and respectful of others. The main focus of Martial Arts training in general is not just about learning self-defense. It is about perfection of character.

    You may be worried that Muay Thai may increasingly violent with your newfound knowledge. Since such emphasis is put on respecting others, bullying is not a result of Martial Arts training. As a matter of fact, you may develop more positive social behaviour as a result of our skill. You may also be worried that this workout may cause injured. Statistics show that you will more likely be injured playing sports, than in practicing Martial Arts. However, you should make sure that the program uses safety measures, such as padded floors and that protective equipment is worn during sparring.

Depending on the mechanism driving the pellet, an airsoft gun can be operated manually or cycled by either compressed gas such as Green Gas (propane), or CO2, a spring, or an electric motor, but are ultimately fired from a piston compressing a pocket of air.

    The history was begun In 1980s Japan it was illegal to own a firearm, but there was a large interest in them. Because of this interest, manufacturers started to produce realistic looking spring-powered guns. These guns fired several calibers of plastic or rubber BBs, but were eventually standardized into 6 mm and 8 mm sizes. The early spring-powered weapons then morphed into gas-powered ones, using a variety of systems.     Airsoftgun is use full for people that want to act like soldier in the battle, even that not same in the reality because Airsoftgun use plastic munition not use real bullet. But, that is enough because the gun, the gear is almost same or replica from the real things that military use. Airsoftgun game(skirmish)can improve our skill like shooting, strategy, tecnique of battle. And, this is challenging activity for my opinion. Well, thats the fun of this game

    Unfortunately, Airsoftgun has negative side like you can do a criminal from it. For axample, you can rob someone or even a bank because Airsoftgun has a real gun form. Beside criminal you can hurt someone because the Airsoftgun has a high velocity of bullet. But if you use Airsoftgun well and carefully, you wont get bad things happen.

    The conclusion is that Airsoftgun is a fun sport, if that could called a sport. It has many positive side, but has many bad side too. But, like I said if you use your Airsoftgun carefully and just use it in the game or skirmish, believe me it wont make a bad things happen. So, you should try Airsoftgun game just once, and you will like it!

    In these modern times, everything is computerized. Electronic become a kind of lifestyle, especially video games. Not many people know that video games these days have also become the sport for ‘e-lifestyle’. It was starting from Starcraft boom in South Korea in year 2000 era. As cyber café began sprouting everywhere, people can play easily everywhere. The game itself becoming even more competitive as time passed on, and at its summit, the first National Starcraft Competition held at Seoul. The era of Esport just begun since then.
    In my opinion, gaming these day not just waste of time and hobby. Just make sure the game support multiplayer, since your skills will go wasted if you play single player game. It will not difficult since there are many multiplayer games of any type these days. If someone play hard enough and got the skills right, they can go compete against another player in a Competition. In formal events, it is usual the competition held prizes for the winner. However, it will not be easy to win a competition since they’re many that have same skills or even better than you! People that competing for these money can be rightly called professional. In South Korea, US, and Europe pro-gamer are common since they’re many competition being held at there with many prizes. Therefore, gaming hobby not go waste as many people thought to be!

In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms, while the field players typically use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the competition. Nowadays, football has become more popular in every place in the world. Every four years there is an international football event and championship that held in some countries in the world. This event was really popular as we know, the FIFA World Cup. People in the world always celebrate this event by watching every match together with their family, relative and friends at restaurant, home, or maybe watching the football game live at the stadium or other public places. So, football has become an important part of every people life in the world.

        I will discuss the world of football in Indonesia. Football in Indonesia has evolved since hundred years ago, but the football federation itself founded on 19 April 1930. We can say that football has taken part in our nation since the colonial era until now, the reformation era. Today, almost every Indonesian people like football. We can see it in everyday from the ISL (Indonesian Super League) or like the Indonesian people call it ‘liga djarum’. This Indonesian league held every Tuesday until Thursday afternoon in weekdays and Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening in weekend. If you watch it in television you would see a mass of football spectator and fans from both football clubs that were playing at the time. From the match which we saw a mass of football fans, we know that the Indonesian people have a high interest in football. That could be a positive thing for our country. When a national football teams of a country playing against the other country, it is not just a sport match but it is also a fighting for our national pride. Our nation has diversity in culture but we have the motto of our country ‘unity in diversity’. Unfortunately, almost in everyday we heard news about clashes between groups in every place. It seems that our people make our state motto as mere words, and they not practice it in daily life. But football may be one solution to this problem. When our national football teams playing at match against other country at our place, tens of thousands Indonesian peoples from different groups, race and any other background are gather at the stadium to give support for our national football team. Although our team often loses, our national football fans still loyal to the national team and always give support for the team every time and everywhere. If the riots happened, there would be a lot of victim from both sides of the football fans and not only the football fans the other people who just passing by the stadium also become a football riot victims. I think that is one of the negative things from football that actually comes from football supporters.

        Basically, I really love this sport. From football match, the dignity of our country can be improved. Beside that football can be one solution to unifying the nation and to solve many problems in the society such as clashes between groups, as I said before. Although the football game takes a long time for ninety minutes which divided into first and second half for every forty five minutes, I always like to watch football match either from the television or directly at the stadium.     Formula One is the one the of most famous automotive sport in the world. It begins since 1950 and now its the 61 season of this event . Many car manufacturer and many team are participate in this competition and many driver especially racing driver says this competition is they childhood dreams and they want to reach they dream as much as possible they can. in addition, this automotive has a fans more bigger than other sport. Moreover, it has a very faster car than other racing automotive sport.

    This sport has many entertaiment like a collision, overtaking, incident and undexpected surprise during race is underway. Additonally, many people was excited to watch this competition because that reason. In addition they like to watch it because they thought it can foster their sense of nationalism because they support team or driver from they countries. And Formula 1 technology can be applicated in the daily electronic appliances. It can happen because Formula one is a reference for the now technology. Basically, formula need a much more money so its fair if formula one have advanced technology.

    However, its a dangerous sport so if collision is happen maybe many people can kill cause that failure. To conclude, hundred driver , viewers and marshall become victims from this competition . And unfortunenately,this competition has produce many of the gas emmition where it can increase green house effects which it can cause climate change. In addition, it spent a lot of money so team that only haveand spent can’t survive in this competition . Its very dangerous effects for this sport because many manufacturer had ruling this competition and many privateer team was die .

    Basically , i very like this sport because i like sport which can pushing my adrenaline into the limit and i like the sport who is move faster. This sport can practice your patience, creativity and stamina . Why i say that ? Because you must be patience to waited the good moment to overtake your opponent or defence your position from opponent attack .And You must have many ways to pass your opponent. Therefore, to do that you must have strong stamina because the car is very hot and the cockpit is so heavy to ride. And for you who want to applicate your physics science, you can be the crew especially car crew of the one of team or if you are want to applicate your economics science , you can be the principal or staff of one of the team

  29. Social Network on Internet

    Nowadays, we often heard people said “Follow us on Twitter”, or “Look at our page on Facebook”, sometimes we also heard they said “Visit my blog at…” These quotes proof that internet has a new function, as a communication and publication media, in other words, social network. Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and some blog site, are examples of social network site on the internet. With those sites, many people in this world are connected by a simple internet connection to the international world full of different peoples. This new function becomes more interesting for me, because it have some controversial positive and negative impacts to the people who use it.

    Social network main objective is to communicate people via internet, and that is one positive impact of social network. Social network enable human to communicate with each other, even if they are separated by distance. Twitter, Facebook, and Plurk also play a role in self-selling strategy nowadays. Photos in Facebook, tweet (status in Twitter), and the small-blogging site, Plurk, has been used by people to show who they are to their friend, families, or even strangers, at the internet era. Not only self-selling, product selling has been implemented too to social network. We can see some commercial tweets, commercial page on facebook, those things proof that social network play another big role in this internet area, which is as a commercial product selling media. There are many other positive impacts of social network if we analyze it perfectly, but those three positive impacts are enough to explain the benefits of social networking.

    Unfortunately, every coin has two side, as for social network, the other side is the bad side. While its main objective is to be a socializing media between people, sometimes people who use social networks on internet become an anti-social person. Because, when they meet people in reality, they become clumsy. This impact could be happen, if the user actually is a shy person, when he/she communicate via internet, they only need keyboard and they have time interval to think what he/she want to say (in this case, type). But, when they meet the real person, they become their “shy” form. While this problem still happen sometimes, the addictive problem of social network is more dangerous. Some social network user become highly addicted to their social networking, and completely forgot the other task that they have to do at that time. This problem is the impact of social network which is most needed to be concerned.

    To conclude, social network has already played big role of communication in this internet era, unfortunately with some bad impacts as written above. For myself, I create user at Facebook and Twitter to make communication become easier for me. As far as Facebook and Twitter can create a link from me to my friends, relatives, and colleagues, I still think those social networks are useful for my life. If we want to use social network, we should always remember that we have the real social network around us, not just illusion social network on the internet. Also, do not become addicted to those social networks. So, keep networking guys!

  30. Football, a sport that unifying our nation

    Association football, commonly known as football or soccer, is a sport played between two teams of eleven players with a spherical ball. It is the world’s most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field of grass or green artificial turf, with a goal in the middle of each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by driving the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms, while the field players typically use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the competition. Nowadays, football has become more popular in every place in the world. Every four years there is an international football event and championship that held in some countries in the world. This event was really popular as we know, the FIFA World Cup. People in the world always celebrate this event by watching every match together with their family, relative and friends at restaurant, home, or maybe watching the football game live at the stadium or other public places. So, football has become an important part of every people life in the world.
    I will discuss the world of football in Indonesia. Football in Indonesia has evolved since hundred years ago, but the football federation itself founded on 19 April 1930. We can say that football has taken part in our nation since the colonial era until now, the reformation era. Today, almost every Indonesian people like football. We can see it in everyday from the ISL (Indonesian Super League) or like the Indonesian people call it ‘liga djarum’. This Indonesian league held every Tuesday until Thursday afternoon in weekdays and Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening in weekend. If you watch it in television you would see a mass of football spectator and fans from both football clubs that were playing at the time. From the match which we saw a mass of football fans, we know that the Indonesian people have a high interest in football. That could be a positive thing for our country. When a national football teams of a country playing against the other country, it is not just a sport match but it is also a fighting for our national pride. Our nation has diversity in culture but we have the motto of our country ‘unity in diversity’. Unfortunately, almost in everyday we heard news about clashes between groups in every place. It seems that our people make our state motto as mere words, and they not practice it in daily life. But football may be one solution to this problem. Ice skating occurs both on specially prepared indoor and outdoor tracks, as well as on naturally occurring bodies of frozen water such as lakes and rivers. And Figure skating is an Olympic sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform spins, jumps, footwork and other intricate and challenging moves on the ice. Figure skaters compete at various levels from beginner up to the Olympic level, and at local, national, and international competitions. Figure skating is an official event in the Winter Olympic Games.
    Basically, you can achieve a superior cardiovascular workout, lose weight, increase your endurance, and tone
    your muscles. In addition to these physical benefits, ice skating can also enhance your mental. Ice skating increases a person’s self-confidence and exercises their overall mental control
    However, the primary danger in ice skating is falling on the ice. The chance of falling depends on the roughness of the ice, the design of the ice skate, and the skill and experience of the skater. While serious injury is rare, a number of (short track) skaters have been paralysed after a fall when they hit the boarding. An additional danger of falling is injury caused by the skater’s own metal blades or those of other skaters. Falling can be fatal if a helmet is not worn to protect against serious head trauma. Accidents are rare but most common with collisions or pairs skating.
    In conclusion, Figure skating is a very popular part of the Winter Olympic Games, in which the elegance of both the competitors and their movements attract many spectators. Not surprisingly, the best skaters show many of the same physical and psychological attributes as gymnasts. Currently, the leading countries of the sport are widely considered to be the United States, Russia, Japan, and Canada. Even it has negative sides on it, a lot of people still love this kind of sport.

  32. Racing Sports

    Racing is a sports that use vehicles such as car or motorcycle. This sports usually take place in a circuit even in street circuit. The main objective in Racing is to be the first driver to cross the finish line. Now, there are many racing series using various types of car and motorcycle like Formula 1, V8 Supercars, MotoGP, and many more. Beside winning the race, the drivers also chasing the championship title. They collect points from every race and the driver who has the biggest points will be a series champion.

    The entertainment of this sports like overtaking and crash makes this sport interesting to watch. This sports don’t use road cars, but they modified every car until they found a fast and reliable car. With this sports, many new technology has been founded. This exercise can also stimulate adrenaline as you will drive as fast as 320 kph with some car such as Formula one and even with motorcycle! If you cannot be the driver, you can play some racing simulation game and you can feel that this sports needs more concentration and patient than other sports.

    However, nothing is perfect. Racing is also dangerous because in this sport many collision occured between drivers and sometime can kill the drivers. for example. Shoya Tomizawa is the last person to be killed in a motorcycle race. This sports also required high cost for the car’s development and circuit construction and also produce a lot of gas emissions.

    To conclude, Racing is a dangerous and expensive sport. But this sport is still interesting to watch because there are many improvement of safety regulations. And the improvement of many things above can be applicated in road cars too. I like this sports because it is very challenging and it can pace your adrenaline.

  33. Gymnastics

    Gymnastics is a popular sport in the world. Since a long time ago, there have been a lot of competitions in many countries every year. In competitions, gymnastics is usually judged by the players’ flexibility and also their abilities to do difficult moves in beautiful ways.

    Gymnastics is such a beautiful sport. Even in difficult moves, players have to be able to it beautifully. That’s why people feel happy and fascinated by watching it. When players are on the game, they have to do it with full of passion. If they use some tools, like a ball, hula hoop and many more, they cannot think that those things are only tools, but actually their partners in the game. And even though it’s very tiring, players have to smile if necessary (depends on the theme, song, etc) in front of the watchers, so people will happy while watching it.

    Unfortunately, there are also some negative points in gymnastics. It’s actually dangerous and caused injuries, even to professionals. If players do the moves in wrong ways, it can caused injuries to their bodies. If the injuries are very serious, then players have to get some break, not doing any gymnastics practice, or even having surgery to heal it. Even sometimes, players have to stop doing gymnastics if the injuries are extremely bad. And it’s also very difficult to be learned, it’s not like badminton or swimming, which everybody can do it even if they’re not professionals. But gymnastics is different, people have to know the details and tricks to do the moves, and they need many years to learn it.

    To conclude, I really like to watch gymnastics. But I’m not really in favor to do it. If people want to be able to do gymnastics, they really have to be serious in learning it. From what I’ve seen, I think it doesn’t have any bad effects to people who watch it. It’s just a beautiful sport, without any aggressive points in it, people will feel happy after watching it, and there is no aggression of fans.

    Do you know vending machine? Vending machine provides snacks, beverages, lottery tickets, and other products to consumers without cashier. The first vending machine in the U.S. was built in 1888 by the Thomas Adams Gum Company, selling gum on train platforms. The idea of adding simple games to these machines as a further incentive to buy came in 1897 when the Pulver Manufacturing Company added small figures which would move around whenever somebody bought some gum from their machines.

    there are some good points of vending machine. The first thing is you can get something that you want easy. For example you wanna buy chocolate. You only have to go to the nearest vending machine and you can find chocolate. Then, the other good point is vending machine are everywhere. So, you can find it easily.

    However, if there are a good points, there must be some bad points. The bad points are not all type of money can be use. For example, the vending machine that you chose only can use coins. So, you can’t use the other type of money. The next thing is the food not as good as sell in a shop. It can be put there for a week or a month. May be you get the expired one. Nobody knows how are the food condition.

    Based on that, my conclusion is vending machine is a sophisticated thing. You can choose whether it’s better to use vending machine or not. As long as you enjoy and comfortable to use it, why not.

  35. My thoughts on bowling.

    Bowling is a sport in which players attempt to score points by rolling a bowling ball along a flat surface, usually a wooden or synthetic surface, either into pins or to get close to a target ball. There are many forms of bowling, one of the most recent being ten-pin bowling. Today, bowling is enjoyed by 95 million people in more than ninety countries worldwide and continues to grow through entertainment media such as video games for home consoles and hand held devices. I personally think that this sport is a very enjoyable sport and has its healthy benefits too. That is probably why bowling has fascinated millions of people world wide.
    It seems to me that this certain sport would attract not only men, but woman too. Although bowling seems to only be an entertaining sport, it has its health benefits like I’ve mentioned before. Bowling helps in burning calories and works muscle groups not usually exercised. The flexing and stretching in bowling works tendons, joints, ligaments, and muscles in the arms and promotes weight loss. Apart from the physical benefits it also has psychosocial benefits, strengthening friendships or creating new ones in groups. It increases the quality of a teamwork. Aside from all of that, it is truly fun and enjoyable. I think that bowling is considered to be one of the most fun activities for a group of people. For example: families, etc.
    However, there is a negative side to this sport although it has only a few. Bowling can cause some injuries. Ex: wrist injuries, knee injuries, etc. The wrist is commonly injured in bowling. Bowling places a lot of stress on the wrist and if you are an avid bowler you may injure the wrist at some point. If you injure your wrist here are some tips on how to rehabilitate the injury as soon as possible. Bowling is a great pastime for people of all ages and a great way to spend some quality time with friends while getting in some exercise as well. However, because bowling tends to isolate and concentrate on certain muscles far more so than other sports, bowlers can sustain serious injuries that they may not be expecting.
    My conclusion is that I think bowling is a thoroughly enjoyable yet healthy sport. It would attract mostly a group of people. This sport is not considered to be the most competitive nor healthy sport, but all kinds of people would surely like bowling. However it causes a few injuries, but I think the negative sides of this sport is less than its positives. I personally love this sport, so yes.

  36. My opinion about short guys that join a basketball team
    Basketball is a team play, each team consists of 5 main players. The regulation of playing a basketball is by dribbling (bouncing the ball while running), passing, shooting, lay-up, etc. A basketball hoop consists of a rim 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter and 10 feet (3.05 m) high mounted to a backboard. It’s a quite tall rim when we know that average high body of indonesian’s people are 170cm tall.
    In playing a basketball game we need to score a ball by shooting it, therefore we find some troubles with a shorter guys because they can’t easily reach the basketball ring. But in the other hand short guys have more speed and agility than tall guys. Most of the short guys role as a playmaker or shooting guard. They have their position outside of the ‘three-points area’, they just do passing or maybe three points shootout. Nevertheless, tall guys don’t lose their role on play basketball. They are usually put inside the three points area because in this area the tall guys can easily reach basketball ring. They can do lay-up things or maybe slam dunk.
    For a short guy, I recommend to play basketball more ‘tricky’, you can use some tricks to avoid from losing your ball in a game. As far as i know, short guys have more speed than the taller one so you can increase your speed skill especially in dribbling, it really works. Basically, basketball is a team play, no matter how smart you are in playing a ball with your tricky hand if you don’t care about the other player in your team, you’re definitely failed in playing basketball. Your team will lose points, and you will lose the game.
    I think playing basketball is more than just doing sport but also you have your art by moving and playing ball beautifully. Some tricks or beautiful movement will always get an extra attention from suppoters. That’s why short guy is not so bad if they want to join a basketball team. They still have the opportunities to play well, do some tricks, and move beautifully. People will respect it and the crowds will cheer up for you.

  37. Taekwondo, Art of Kicking and Punching

    Taekwondo is a Traditional Martial Arts from Korea. In Korea, tae means “to strike or break with foot”; kwon means “to strike or break with fist”; and do means “way”, “method”, or “art”. Thus, taekwondo may be loosely translated as “the art of the foot and fist” or “the art of kicking and punching”. Even though it’s called the Art of Kicking and Punching, basically, Taekwondo is focusing on striking and kicking. Like many other martial arts, Taekwondo combines combat techniques, self defense, sport, exercise, meditation, and of course, philosophy.

    Formally, there are two main styles of Taekwondo. One comes from the Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) and the other comes from the International Taekwondo Federation. The greatest difference between various styles, is generally accepted to be the differing styles and rules of sport and competition only.

    Taekwondo now is known as one of the global face of East Asian Martial Arts. Many people interested to learn Taekwondo because of its explosive and dangerous yet beautiful movements. It’s also an Art coming from a very ancient tradition that has several of life philosophy. Their philosophy is to be a champion of justice and freedom who should build a better and more peaceful world. Combative, competitive, philosophical and exciting are some adjectives that could be correlated to this Martial Art. Since it’s also a sport, participating Taekwondo can keep your body and mind fit and healthy.

    However every martial art has some dangerous points. Taekwondo is popular with its dangerous movement, especially, kicking. When you got hit by your opponent at a sparring and accidentally broke one of your bones, it may become a serious injury. You also have to use this Taekwondo ability in a right place and situation. Taekwondo is an art of self-defense; it’s not something that you use to start a fight.

    In the end, Taekwondo is a martial art that’s popular among people not only in Korea but Asia too. Even though it can be dangerous sometimes but it’ll be fine as long as you know the limit for your practice and be careful. I think Taekwondo teaches you not only self defense and combat techniques but also a philosophy and a way of life. And with its beautiful movements Taekwondo is definitely become one of the best Martial Arts in Asia.

  38. Cycling as a Sport

    Cycling, also called bicycling or biking, is the use of bicycles for transport, recreation, or for sport. Persons engaged in cycling are cyclists or bicyclists. Apart from ordinary two-wheeled bicycles, cycling also includes riding unicycles, tricycles, quadracycles, and other similarhuman-powered vehicles (HPVs).

    Cycling is an extremely efficient mode of transportation which is optimal for short to moderate distances. There are numerous benefits bicycle provide compared to motor vehicles, including exercise, an alternative to the use of fossil fuels, no air or noise pollution, much reduced traffic congestion and likelihood of causing a fatality, easier parking, greater maneuverability, and access to both roads and paths. The advantages are at less financial cost to the user as well as society (negligible damage to roads, and less pavement required). According to the World Health Organization, physical inactivity is second only to tobacco smoking as a health risk in developed countries, and this is associated with many tens of billions of dollars of healthcare costs. The WHO’s report suggests that increasing physical activity is a public health ‘best buy’, and that cycling is a ‘highly suitable activity’ for this purpose. The charity Sustrans reports that investment in cycling provision can give a 20:1 return from health and other benefits. It has been estimated that, on average, approximately 20 life-years are gained from the health benefits of road bicycling for every life-year lost through injury.
    Bicycles are often used by people seeking to improve their fitness and cardiovascular health. In this regard, cycling is especially helpful for those with arthritis of the lower limbs who are unable to pursue sports that cause impact to the knees and other joints. Since cycling can be used for the practical purpose of transportation, there can be less need for self-discipline to exercise.

    However, this sport has a negative side, too. Cycling suffers from a perception that it is unsafe, although use of appropriate safety equipment and observance of road rules can reduce risk of serious injury. Criticisms and disadvantages of cycling include reduced protection in crashes, particularly with motor vehicles, longer travel time (except in densely populated areas), vulnerability to weather conditions, difficulty in transporting passengers, and the skill and fitness required. Cycling can cause injuries. There are two types of injuries cyclists get from cycling, physical trauma (extrinsic) and overuse (intrinsic). Acute physical trauma includes injuries to the head and extremities resulting from falls and collisions. Most cycle deaths result from a collision with a car or heavy goods vehicle, both motorist and cyclist having been found responsible for collisions. And the second type of injuries is overuse injury, which is most commonly occurs in the knees, affecting cyclists at all levels. These are caused by many factors. Moreover, overuse injuries include chronic nerve damage at weight bearing locations, can occur as a result of repeatedly riding a bicycle for extended periods of time. Damage to the ulnar nerve in the palm, carpal tunnel in the wrist, the genitourinary tract or bicycle seat neuropathy may result from overuse.

    But in the end, despite of the injuries or other losses, cycling has much more advantages such as reducing air pollution, less financial cost and it can be fun too for children or anyone who like riding bicycle. Personally, I like cycling more than using motor vehicles, especially to travel for short or moderate distances. However it’s important to learn how to ride efficiently and safely.

  39. Yoga

    Yoga is an ancient art that has benefited human beings of the Asian continent for millennia. Yoga is also extreme importance in stronger neurological control with an extra ordinary increase in the concentration span as well as ability to deal with the perplexities of life without losing hope or direction. Yoga should only be practiced on empty stomach. You can do it at any time during the day.

    There are many positive effects that come about by the practice of yoga. Basically, yoga has played a versatile role in the benefit of the human race. The aim of yoga may range from improved health. Yoga also increases alertness and the ability of the mind to focus as most of its exercises are based on synchronization between the heart, mind, lungs and the rest of the body. The poses of Yoga not only strengthen the ligaments, muscles, tissues, joints but also maintain the metabolism as well as overall functional capacity and health of all the body’s systems. By practicing yoga, we can prevent our body from getting a disease, and if in case there is some type of disease coming, we can get a warning before hand. Yoga also helps in preventing back pain, and improving alignment.

    However, Yoga can also affect the emotions and thinking as well as behavioral patterns of people. These include physical symptoms which are mainly insomnia, congestion of energy resulting in weakening of the body, pain and discomfort, fever or over heating, skin rashes as well as depression. Some of the disadvantages of the exercise are an ill effect on health and the vitals. Moreover, Yoga can take a toll on the body and attempting the difficult postures of the spinal process especially have resulted in fractures as well as severe back ache and stiffening.

    In conclusion, I think yoga is a sport that useful to increase alertness and the ability of the mind to focus. and yoga also can prevent our body from getting a disease. Even though it has some weaknesses, yoga can make us feel relaxed and make our body healthier.

  40. Moto GP

    Motorcycle Grand Prix is the premier championship of motorcycle road racing, basically is divided into three distinct classes, namely: 125cc, Moto2 and Moto GP. Grand Prix motorcycles are purpose to built racing machines that are neither available for purchase by the general public nor can be ridden legally on public roads.   42. Figure Skating

    Have you ever heard about figure skating? Maybe you would recognize ice skating more than this sport. Well, technically, figure skating is an olympic sport which perform intricate and challenging moves on the ice. So, it’s similar to ice skating, but mixed with the artistic moves such as spins, jumps, foot works, and so much more. It could be a sport for individuals, pairs or groups to show off various skills of gymnastic and a bit of dance.

    In other places, figure skating is usually referred to artistic skating. Because of those graceful moves which make it more likely a show than a sport. But, same as ice skating, doing this figure skating needs a great balance through the whole part of the body to walk gracefully on the ice with those pair of blades at the bottom of the shoes. And what makes this figure skating harder than the ordinary ice skating is the skills of the awesome movements which makes this figure skating be an extremely artistic sport.

    In my opinion, figure skating has lots of positive things. One of them is, the way this sport could include the healthy purposes and art purposes. Maybe people could walk on the ice with the skate shoes. And in the other hand, maybe people could do ballet and perform gracefully on stage. But to mix those things together are totally amazing and absolutely need a real skill and talent. More over because of some kind of tricks and acts could be a real danger if you don’t really know how to do it professionally.

    But, it’s not that simple to do this kind of sport, especially here in Indonesia. As we all know, this figure skating need a special rink that covered by ice and coated with a thin sheet of water, which unfortunately needs a temperature-controlled room to maintain it. So it’s not easy to get the proper place to do this sport. And the places are so rare here in Indonesia. More over, the shoes are also hard to find and maintain. The blades under the shoes need to be polished about a time per 6 months. And the movements on the ice are also risky for serious injuries.

    However, this sport is really enjoyable to watch because it similar to a performance. And it’s really great to boost your balance and flexibility. Even though lack of the place to learn hamper us to know more about figure skating, but it takes more pride for you to master it. Especially for you who has a deep passion in gymnastic, skates or even dance, you really should try this one. Interested to try?

  43. What I Think of Eating Less Meat as a Lifestyle

    Becoming a vegetarian is a lifestyle, that people choose to eat meatless or no meat at all. There are some reasons people decided as vegetarianism such as: religious, ethical, health, or could be economic. While people may acknowledge tolerance for religious or ethical vegetarians, the reasons behind these motivations are rarely going to convince anyone to become a vegetarian who does not hold the same code of beliefs. However, several scientific arguments exist in support of vegetarianism and it could be seen the rise of environmental vegetarianism add.

    In my opinion, most women find this lifestyle is quite interesting because it has so many positive sides, for instance ‘Loss your weight effectively’ is at the top of the list. In addition, most of doctor also suggested that vegetarian food is healthier for cure illness of the heart, cancer, stroke prevention, diabetes, and the list still goes on… so, it’s pretty much obvious that it is not just about diet issue a vegetarian could get rid off.

    In any case, everyone knows that vegetarian food is easier on the wallet. Although, a piece of tofu provides nearly the same protein as an identical size of beef, it is 20 times cheaper.

    Despite its positive sides, being a vegetarian still has negative side. Such thing as energy, a vegetarian, will not have the same amount of energy as a meat eater. Because, vegetables can’t provide energy needs like animal products do. Therefore, a vegetarian usually seems weaker than a non-vegetarian. Also, some health conditions keep out vegetarianism or make it nearly impossible to get proper nutrition without meat.

    To bring this essay to a conclusion, I personally think that, vegetarianism is such a good lifestyle to be followed on. If you think you should be a vegetarian, try to set reasonable limits for yourself. It is nearly impossible to completely avoid all animal ingredients, so give yourself credit for making an effort, even if you slip up. As a suggestion for a newbie, you could be a vegetarian for one day per week. As for the next step, if you think that you are physically and mentally ready, then you could be a 24/7 vegetarian. Talking about technologies, I’m going to explain how BlackBerry smartphone affected my life and how I sees other’s life affected by it. Now I’m not going to copy-paste sources that I could get from the internet but Im going to make this essay from the point that I see. BlackBerry is this easy access to internet or browsing, its like this mini computer that we could put in our pocket. This device also have this advanced application named “Black Berry Messenger”, we could chat all the time with the contacts that we invited and other BlackBerry users. These phones are made to ”ease your way through life”. But is it really necessary to ease a 10 year old’s life with such technology?

    Online games aren’t just a diversion, but a unique way to meet other people. As millions of gamers demonstrate, playing online is about friendship and cooperation, not just killing monsters. These games are a viable social network because players focus on teamwork, form groups with like-minded people and have romantic relationships with other players.

    Massively-Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) feature millions of players interacting in the same environment. The games are social in nature as they allow players to band together and complete missions based on a story line, or test their skills by fighting against each other. At the start of the game, the user creates a fictional character, and customizes its physical appearance. Since many games involve combat, players also outfit their characters with armor and weapons, as well as choose their “profession.” Many popular game titles like World of Warcraft and Everquest follow a fantasy theme, so most professions have magical abilities like healing other players or raising undead minions. While the process seems simple, players may spend hours agonizing over the perfect look for their character, from their armor color to the type of skills to use in battle. Once their character is created, the player is free to explore the vast, digital world and interact with other players; however they must pay on average $15 a month for game content. MMOG users are mostly male – usually between the ages of 18-34 – although titles like World of Warcraft have a healthy population of female players as well. With millions of players, there are plenty of people to adventure with.

    Internet gamers insist on teamwork and cooperation, which contributes to the social atmosphere of the game. Due to the complexity of a game like Everquest, it is almost impossible to beat it alone. Players rely on other humans to help them. Group coordination is important then, as a person that attacks a difficult monster against team orders could cost the group hours of work. Before starting a mission, players discuss various strategies and techniques instead of charging in without any knowledge. Each person on the team has a certain role to play – certain characters will heal the party while others will be primary damage dealers. Teamwork and cooperation are especially important in games like World of Warcraft, where 40-person “raids” are needed to assure victory in certain missions. The social aspect of the game then, comes from coordinating with other people, not destroying monsters. This is an unstated fact in many game manuals, which only instruct players about the game’s story and mechanics. Professor T.L. Taylor of IT University of Copenhagen discusses this phenomenon in a lecture at the University of Washington. She explains how in Everquest, players could get large “trains” of monsters to follow them, and then alert the team when the monsters were approaching – a tactic not mentioned in the manual. “Players don’t just pick up a game and understand it,” Taylor says. They are “socialized in practices of play” so as to develop a “sophisticated understanding” of how the game works. By learning to work with others, people can “evaluate other players” and enjoy the game more.

    Players that enjoy the experience of working with others will often join game-based organizations known as “guilds” or “clans.” These groups are like a virtual family, as they complete missions together and provide the player with contacts inside the game. For groups with a small membership, the players are often close-knit as they come to rely on fellow members. There are many benefits to group members besides socializing though. In the game Guild Wars, the most powerful “guilds” can control virtual towns, and access special areas off-limits to most players. Certain groups even compete in online championships for world recognition. But for most people, being in a game group is just hanging out with friends. Mike Windham, an online gamer and guild-leader, says that people join such groups because they are “somehow related to something [they] do or like.” He references how many online games encourage people to join organizations of like-minded players – certain groups specialize in completing the story while others prefer to battle other humans. As a guild leader, Windham has his own share of responsibilities, as he “acts like a public relations manager” that “makes sure everything runs well.” But he does acknowledge that the game helps him maintain his friendships within the group. “Sometimes going online is the only way I can reach some people,” he says. Not only do people find that such groups help them complete the game easier, they bring them closer to other players as well.

    The social environment of these games can lead to romantic relationships between players. This is because the game combines the anonymity of the Internet with the social aspect of working together. These relationships are unique because they start with little expectations – in most cases two people think they will never meet each other and so are more willing to be honest. Couples that play together get to know each other emotionally, without having to worry about physical appearances getting in the way. Many times future couples meet in “guilds”, as the groups are formed around a common interest like adventuring together. Overtime, a relationship is formed as the players become attached to one another. In many cases, the relationship dies out after a few months, but some people take the effort to meet their partner in person. For couples who meet face to face and have physical relationships, the game was the driving factor that brought them together. On his website, “The Daedalus Project,” Nick Yee, a Stanford Ph.D student who does research in online games, quotes a female World of Warcraft player who doubted she would have had a relationship with her partner had they met in real life. The 25 year old woman said she would “have pigeonholed him without ever giving him a chance” because he “definitely wasn’t my type” (11). Yee goes on to say that the “absence of physical cues can in fact make relationships less focused on superficial qualities between people who are in fact highly compatible” (11). While some may argue that these online relationships are shallow, they can lead to a lasting, physical relationship that would not have been possible without the game.

    Some argue that people are playing online games not for the social aspect but because they are addicted to the game instead. They claim that spending so much time online will cause people to have a shut-in life, more attached to virtual characters than real people. This seemed to be the case of Shawn Wooley, a 21 year old Everquest fan who committed suicide in November 2001. In the CBS News report, “Addicted: Suicide Over Everquest?” by Susan Spencer, Wooley’s mother recalls that her son, “couldn’t stay off [Everquest]” and claims that “he shot himself because of the game” (1). But while Wooley’s case is unfortunate, the report also notes that he “struggled with learning disabilities and significant emotional problems” (1), which probably played a larger role in his death. According to Yee, the Stanford Ph.D student, most players only spend about 21 hours a week in the game, and that people logged on to “socialize and find group affiliation” (1), not escape from reality. After Wooley’s death, Everquest installed a timer to let players set their limits. While games are a viable social network, they should be used – like most things – in moderation.

    What these games reveal is that socializing over the Internet is a viable way of communicating. While critics of social networking sites like Myspace get hung up over privacy issues, they ignore the fact that these websites are useful tools for people to find old friends or meet new ones. While it’s true that Myspace had to deal with privacy concerns this has not stopped it from offering an environment conducive for socializing. Sites like Myspace allow people to achieve a difficult task: maintaining friendships – especially long distance ones – without losing track of people. People can also join groups with similar interests and make new connections over the web – even romantic ones. While Myspace is not as complicated as online games it draws on the same population of Internet-savvy people who want to expand their horizons and socialize in a new, interesting, way.

    In a world where people turn to technology more than ever, some feel that humanity is becoming isolated. But as online gamers show, venturing into the digital world is a gateway to society, not a cut off point. Socializing with other people isn’t a thing of the past – it’s the basis for the future, and online gamers are leading the way.

  48. Rock Climbing

    Rock climbing is a sport which is related to heights. Rock climbing is usually thought as a part of mountaineering activities, because it is done in the wild, just as most mountaineering activities are done. Rock climbing is similar to wall climbing, but the difference is that wall climbing is the artificial version of the sport. In wall climbing, the climber must climb a wall and grip artificial ‘points’, in rock climbing, there is no wall and artificial ‘points’, but instead there is a natural cliff of rocks which you must climb with your bare hands. Rock climbing is not a popular sport like basketball and soccer, it is probably because it requires a natural rock cliff which isn’t easy to get to during our everyday lives.
    Rock climbing is definitely a fun sport. It raises the adrenalin because of its challenging process of getting to the top of the cliff. Rock climbing is good for the upper body muscles, mostly on our back and also for our biceps and triceps. Besides that, it also brings us closer to Mother Nature and helps us respect what nature has given to us, because, in order to do rock climbing, you require a natural rock cliff.
    However, rock climbing is a high-risk sport. Your life depends on the ropes and safety equipments, if not secured properly, you can easily fall and get injured or maybe even die. And because rock climbing is done in the nature, it is not a big surprise that during the climb we find nests or small creatures, not everybody is used to conditions like so. Besides that, rock climbing makes the surface of the climbers palms rough, for boys this isn’t considered a problem, but most girls prefer smooth palms.
    Every sport has their own risks, but for rock climbing, the chances of an accident are probably bigger because of its location and the dependence on the safety equipment. Even though so, rock climbing is a thrilling sport, the challenge it brings and also the atmosphere surrounding the sport definitely has its own attraction. I highly suggest that people should try rock climbing more.

  49. My opinion about baseball

    Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each. The goal is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of four bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot square, or diamond. Players on one team (the batting team) take turns hitting against the pitcher of the other team (the fielding team), which tries to stop them from scoring runs by getting hitters out in any of several ways. A player on the batting team can stop at any of the bases and later advance via a teammate’s hit or other means. The teams switch between batting and fielding whenever the fielding team records three outs. One turn at bat for each team constitutes an inning and nine innings make up a professional game. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins.
    Baseball is a team based sport, so this sport will train us how to cooperate with each other, and train our brain because we must act fast to prevent the other team get points. This sport also train our feet, because we need to run as fast as we can to reach the next base(s). Also teach us to hit and throw a ball accurately. This sport will train us to concentrate, so we can hit the ball throwed by the pitcher, why this sport train us to concentrate? Because when it’s our turn as a batter, sometimes enemy’s catcher will try to break our concentrate so we can’t hit the ball.
    However this sport also has a negative sides. As the other sport, the supporter and the player may get angry when they are lose that’s normal in sports. Besides that, this sport may cause serious injury because it’s bat made from steel and it’s ball really hard. The ball not as soft as tennis ball, so when the ball hits face that will be really hurt and may cause serious injury. Also, because the players allowed to tackle others to prevent them from getting to the base(s).
    So, in order to prevent from that, the players use helmet and hat that made for baseball. And they use gloves to help them grip bat better and catch the ball easier, without feels hurt. To prevent from getting hurt because of tackle, the player use shoes that designed for baseball play. Baseball is one of my favourite sport even i’m never played baseball. Besides, my favourite sport is outdoor sports, like mountaineering, rafting, rock climbing, and others.

  50. Cycling, for better world

    Cycling, also called bicycling or biking, is the use of bicycles for transport, recreation, or sport. Persons engaged in cycling are cyclists, bicyclists, or an Indonesia people usually called as “goweser”. Apart from ordinary two-wheeled bicycles, cycling also includes riding unicycles, tricycles, quadracycles, and other similar human-powered vehicles.

    Bicycles provide numerous benefits compared to motor vehicles, including exercise, an alternative to the use of fossil fuels, no air or noise pollution, easier parking, greater maneuverability, and access to both roads and paths. The other advantages are at less financial cost.
    However, cycling has several disadvantages, including reduced crash protection, especially with motor vehicles, longer travel time, vulnerability to weather conditions, difficulty in transporting passengers, and the skill and fitness required.

    In conclusion, bicycle is a easy sport that can make better world. We don’t need some specific skills to ride bicycle. Beyond the negative side, bicycle is a better alternative transportation beside motor vehicle. So, don’t forget about safety first, then you already reduce air pollution and make better world in the future.

  51. My opinion about Badminton sport
    Basically Badminton is just not about hitting the shuttlecock. It has many strategies such as: how to beat the opponent using netting, jumping smash, backhand smash, etc. It means in this sport, you need to be smart and think quickly in order to beat the opponent. When you get smashed by your opponent, your reflex must be as fast as a bullet, or you’re going to lose. I think this sport improves your reflex.

    However Badminton also has its negative effects. If you play badminton without sport shoes and instead you use unsuitable shoes and the condition of the floor is slippery, you may slip and injure yourself. This accident can cramp your muscles or even in worst situations, break your leg.

    So I can conclude that Badminton is a very fun sport to play, you can play it anywhere and anytime. In addition, badminton will help you to keep healthy and sharpens your reflex. But you must pay attention to the equipments you are wearing especially shoes. If you don’t pay attention to that, you may face some serious problems.

That’s way many people lazy to get exercise.

    So…basically running is the cheapest sport form another sport. It is not to spend more money. You just to spend your time to do it. Running is the best way to get healthy in lower price or no price at all. Everybody exactly can run, but there is so many benefits behind this sport. First benefit you will get directly, when you running in 15-30 minute are, your heart get more healthy and you can feel your body getting fresh and little bit your fat was disappear. It also makes all of part of your body get healthier, if you do it regularly. Example if you are really busy in weekdays, you can try it in weekend. In the morning you have to get up earlier, so……you can exercise longer. You just spend your time 150-45 minute for running. If you do it regularly your weight get loser and your body more healthy than before.

    But there is bad thing of running. If you running on the side walk, however you just get healthy but you will breathe the pollution. It also makes your body unhealthy.

It also makes all of part of your body get healthier, if you do it regularly. Example if you are really busy in weekdays, you can try it in weekend. In the morning you have to get up earlier, so……you can exercise longer. You just spend your time 150-45 minute for running. If you do it regularly your weight get loser and your body more healthy than before.

    But there is bad thing of running. If you running on the side walk, however you just get healthy but you will breathe the pollution. It also makes your body unhealthy.
